At work we dress in what we like, though some are more professional than others.
This is strictly a friendship thing, us going out.

We met on the network before he joined the LEU. [ Before she convinced him to join and then went out on something they jokingly decided to call a "date" together the day he became an officer. If she learns how to look at old posts, she could find it and Quistis could be mortified. ]

We actually had a lot in common!
Where he comes from, he used to be an instructor at a military school.
It is interesting comparing notes and teaching styles.

[ She has something in mind that might actually be above the knee, has no sleeves, and shows off some cleavage... but it's classy, so it's clearly alright! Her problem (which she doesn't lament aloud) are a combo of breasts, a slim (but not too slim) waistline, and wide hips in combination with her slightly taller than average height. Most dresses seem to be made in smaller sizes assume a woman has no ass or with a higher waistline, both of which look awful on her. Sigh. ]

[Sadly this is all in text so Quistis can't see Rinoa sticking her tongue out, but knowing Quistis she'll probably know anyway. Not that Rinoa thinks Quistis is scary and near all knowing or anything.]

[If Rinoa didn't believe Quistis about the platonic thing before, she's not going to believe it after she sees that dress. If Rinoa hears about it, she'll just suggest Quistis find someone to tailor her clothes to fit her better. There seem to be several needle-minded people here who'd probably do it for a reasonable price.

Speaking of price, Quistis really ought to lecture Rinoa about how getting a job is something she really needs to do. Rich girl is probably burning a hole through her starter $500 like it's going to expire if she doesn't spend it.

It was sort of spur of the moment. He hasn't made reservations yet, so I assume it will be in the coming week or so.

[ She'll pull a few out, all a little less practical than you'd think. She usually prefers formfitting, but nothing quite so... well. It's so painfully obvious she has A Thing for the guy.

That being said, at least things seem to be cheaper overall here. She gets paid $200 a week doing full-time work at the LEU and that seems about average for full-time work (although Quistis has quite the nest egg already, having started a second job; someone has to support Seifer and the kid, after all!). She'll give her some time to settle in before doing more than just implying she should get a job... ]

[She'll be more than happy to help Quistis find the perfect dress. If that means finding the perfect dress and then picking several more outlandish and horrifying things to make the perfect one seem more normal then so be it. Even Rinoa can be sneaky and have good plans every now and then.

The stores might be cheap, but Rinoa's tastes not so much. Those sweaters she commissioned probably cost a full week of Quistis' LEU pay. Implying should be enough, it's not like she's got school or a resistance to keep her busy here.]

I'm not going to address it any further.
And I usually have evenings off. I don't have any days off this week, however.

[ Everything costs less, despite the quality. She bought a folding bike on less than a day's salary and lipstick she generally would spend three or four times on was well... quite a bit less (hence the three or four times). Things are askew here! ]
