[It's obvious when she spots him, since she's not exactly quiet about it.

Rinoa doesn't say anything else, she just sort of takes off. It might be a good idea for him to brace for impact or something along those lines.

Also she is totally wearing a knock off of his jacket. Santa made it for her, isn't he nice.]

[ he immediately stands up at the sound of her voice, nearly does a salute, but remembers, This is Rinoa and drops it.

[Rinoa doesn't even notice the almost salute, she's honestly too busy paying attention to other things. Like how he's now at the perfect hug height now that he's standing. He might not be much of a hug person, but she is and so she gives him one anyway. If she clings a little well, who can blame her.

Squall! I haven't seen you in months and the first thing you ask me about in person is my jacket?? [She's not mad, in fact she's actually laughing instead. Leave it to Squall to focus on something like that a time like this.] It was a present! Someone made it for me for this holiday called Christmas.

[She's refused to wear any other coat or jacket since.]

[ Hugs are still foreign concepts to him, especially coming from Rinoa and Quistis. But, his arms aren't just hanging by his sides... in fact they'll come up and hug Rinoa back... awkwardly.

Does he kiss the top of her head? SQUINTS ]

Well... It looks like mine for one thing... [ is she still wearing Griever? ] Christmas?

[Practice makes perfect, Squall. Sounds like they just need to make hugging a regular thing.

He'd better, because it'll make her all warm and gooey inside for the next several weeks. Rinoa's not going to bother moving away either, at least not just yet, maybe in a few minutes.]

It's supposed to! I wanted something I could wear that'd remind me of you! [She's not going to tel Squall that the Landlord made her forget him for a while.

Christmas is great! It's kind of like the Winter Solstice back home. Presents, time spent with friends, and stuff like that!

[ he's quiet, because it's just so Rinoa, so like her to have something to remind her of him. ]

[ he doesn't let go either, just... lets himself hold her and she hold him for a while. ]

...Why's it called a different name when it's just the same thing?

What? So I'm only allowed one reminder now? And this one is practical, because it keeps me warm. So you should like that, right?

[The implication being that he's practical naturally.

She'd honestly expected him to start moving away by now, so the fact that he doesn't keeps a goofy smile on her face. Maybe he'll learn to get used to this hug stuff after all.]

Easy! Because it's not exactly the same. We don't have anything like Santa! He's a big man with super powerful magic! He makes presents for all the kids everywhere on the planet and he delivers them all in only a night!

[And she's even met him, so she's a huge believer.]

I guess. [ he shrugs—or at least he shrugs from his position. He's always practical! Sort of... considering the three belts he has. ]
